And lastly, an idea should trigger action.

About this event:

We’ve got a broad and deep theme. Our theme,

IDEAS HIDDEN FROM SIGHT is meant to x-ray the following beyond ordinary thoughts:

1. Ideas are evolving at an incredible fast rate, such that they are almost unnoticeable by most people and most communities, even though their impacts are increasingly prominent.

2. No matter how developed the world is, a community’s development will not depends on the global trend but on the exposure of the community members to global ideas.

3. Ideas must be explored with the aims of making them tools of survival for man, and tools of development for the community. A crude idea is still hidden, a refined one is exposed, and therefore it is of much benefit to all.

About Us

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then, its scope has become ever broader. TEDxBodija was licensed in May 2013 - Its focus is on sharing ideas between businesses, people and communities in Ibadan.

Objectives of Tedx Bodija

  1. Ideas: We aim to share ideas that would integrate all efforts towards development and equally enrich individual view of community and business.
  2. Development: The prime objective of the event is Development, of people, of small scale enterprises and of communities, through the promotion of communal values, environmental protection, and dynamics of micro-economics.
  3. Empowerment: There is a big gap of human capacity within the society and the youths could be used as a tool of socio-economic development if empowered. This aspires to achieve this by showcasing global perspectives and systems.
  4. Action: The whole essence of the talk-show is to trigger Local Action through Global Passion. The major post-event activity is to measure the impact of the event by following up with participants, both online and in-venue audience.
